A healthy disposition for words
I was born into a house full of books, and
writing as soon as I could hold a pencil. Scribbles soon became stories. Words
filled me with wonder and I couldn’t get enough of them.
My proofreading skills kicked in at the age of eight, when I amended a schoolteacher’s correction to one of my essays. My words were, even then, my pride and joy, and my life as a logophile was set in motion.
Since then, I’ve worked with them in many forms, both creatively and editorially. From the magazine articles of my younger years, on into the corporate realms of marketing copy, branding and web content. I write poetry and fiction too, for sheer pleasure.
Whether we are selling a product, a service, or an idea, words are the most powerful tools we have to engage our audience. Use a word wrongly on your website, or drop punctuation from your text, and you risk losing your reader – and your potential customer. Get those details right, and it shows that you care about everything you do.
Word Surgery is here to hone those finer points for you, and instil confidence in your brand.
